The Study in the US section of this website gives you all the fundemental information you need to know about studying in the US, and the US Department of State's educationUSA website provides similar information from an American perspective.

There are also detailed information packs and booklets available to download from our Guides & information packs page and the educationUSA website.

The educationUSA database can help you look for undergraduate programmes and universities that best suit your needs, and also lets you search for information about nearly $2 billion worth of scholarships available to international students.

Library

The Fulbright New Zealand library has books about choosing and applying to US colleges and universities, funding assistance and test preparation.

Advising sessions

Fulbright New Zealand offers both individual and group advising sessions to discuss undergraduate study in the United States.

^ topUniversity visits

Can't make it to Wellington to visit our library or talk with our Educational Adviser? Each year our Educational Advising Team travel to university campuses around the country on an Outreach Tour to talk with students about studying in the US.

To find out more about these university visits see our Outreach Tour page.

If you plan to study at the undergraduate level in the US, it is most likely that you will need to submit standardised test scores as part of the US university admission requirements.

Fulbright New Zealand offers comprehensive information about required tests - see the Tests page of our website or contact our Testing Adviser.

ACT and SAT tests

If you are applying to a university in the US as an undergraduate student (studying for a bachelor's degree) then you will need to sit either the ACT or SAT test.

TEST OF ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGETM (TOEFL®) Test

The TOEFL test is for students whose native language is not English. Many universities in the United States (and New Zealand) require international students to sit this test before applying.

We sell a range of resource materials about choosing and applying to US colleges and universities, and study guides for the standardised tests required for studying in the US.
