About the FNZAA

Aims

The aims of the Fulbright New Zealand Alumni Association are to:

  • arrange events and activities of varying kinds that will facilitate connection and networking among alumni;
  • facilitate opportunities to engage New Zealand Fulbright alumni in welcoming, sharing with and supporting current US and New Zealand grantees
  • maintain an up-to-date database of Association members and an on-line presence that puts Fulbright alumni in touch with each other for their personal and professional development;
  • communicate up-to-date information to members;
  • encourage and facilitate the networking of Fulbright and associated programme alumni and grantees at a regional level;
  • provide professional and personal opportunities for current grantees to participate in events and activities beyond the region in which they are studying; and
  • assist Fulbright New Zealand in its objectives and raising awareness of these objectives.

Board

The Fulbright New Zealand Alumni Association is managed by a Board that is representative of both central and regional interests with ex-officio members representing Fulbright New Zealand and the US Embassy. The officers of the Board are:

Regions

There are currently six New Zealand regions and two US regions each with a coordinator. The Regional Coordinators arrange regular events and gatherings where alumni can network. Alumni in the regions also support current grantees arriving and returning to their regions and host inspirational visitors where this can be arranged. The coordinators act as regional focal point for information sharing among alumni eg. art exhibitions, films, drama and dance productions, lectures etc. that involve alumni.
