Māori scholar Dr Melinda Webber (Ngāti Whakaue, Ngāti Kahu, Ngāti Hau) from the University of Auckland’s Faculty of Education will share her unique knowledge of Aotearoa school communities with American counterparts at the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay later this month, with the help of a Fulbright-Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga Travel Award.

A Fiji raised, South Auckland poet will write his second book of poems and short stories as the recipient of the 2012 Fulbright-Creative New Zealand Pacific Writers’ Residency. The residency offers a New Zealand writer of Pacific heritage the opportunity to work for three months on a creative writing project exploring Pacific identity, culture or history, at the University of Hawai’i.

Fulbright New Zealand last night honoured 84 grantees of Fulbright and associated NZ-US exchange awards for 2012, at its annual parliamentary awards ceremony in Wellington. The event was used to announce 26 recipients of various Fulbright New Zealand Graduate Awards to study or research in the United States of America in the 2012-2013 academic year.
